Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the chicken breasts flat in a large baking dish.
  • Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper.
  • Spread 1-2 tablespoons of creamy Caesar dressing over each chicken breast.
  • Layer the sliced provolone cheese over the chicken to cover it completely.
  • Crush the croutons into crumbs.
  • Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and mix the crouton crumbs with it to coat evenly.
  • Spread the crouton mixture over the cheese.

Cooking

  • Bake the dish on the middle rack for 20-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the crumbs are golden brown.
  • If they get too browned, cover loosely with foil.

Serving

  • Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

To elevate the dish, consider adding herbs like thyme or oregano. You can swap provolone for mozzarella or cheddar, and sprinkle red pepper flakes for heat. Serve alongside roasted vegetables or over sautéed spinach.
