Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced Cajun sausage and allow it to brown for about five minutes.
  • Toss in the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic, sautéing for about three minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the rice, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, cooking for two more minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low, cooking for 18-20 minutes until the rice absorbs all the liquid.
  • Once the rice is tender, remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Ensure your sausage is evenly sliced to cook uniformly. Adjust spice levels to taste and don't skip garnishing with green onions for freshness.
