Instructions
 

Preparing the churro dough

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water, unsalted butter, and salt to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once it bubbles, remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until fully combined.
  • Return to low heat, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes while continuously stirring to create a smooth dough.
  • Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then stir in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Frying the churro rings

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • Use a piping bag to pipe circular rings (3-4 inches in diameter) into the hot oil.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
  • Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Coating and assembling

  • In a shallow dish, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for coating.
