Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onions until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  • Lay out an egg roll wrapper, spoon filling to the center, fold in the sides, and seal with beaten egg.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  • Drain fried egg rolls on a paper towel-lined plate and serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

Ensure the oil is the right temperature before frying and do not overcrowd the pan. Use enough beaten egg to seal the edges properly.
