Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage juicy and flavorful
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened for a rich, creamy base
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese sharp and melty goodness
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese adds stretch and creaminess
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained adds a zesty kick

Spices

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder aromatic depth
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder for enhanced flavor
  • 1/2 tsp paprika adds a hint of smokiness
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper to awaken the palate

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional) for a burst of color

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage for about 5-7 minutes until browned and thoroughly cooked, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  • Lower the heat slightly and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until fully melted and combined with the sausage.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until they melt into the mixture.
  • Add the diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper. Stir until well combined and smooth.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.

Notes

For added spice, include jalapeños or cayenne pepper. To make it creamier, mix in a splash of heavy cream. Consider sautéing bell peppers or spinach for extra flavor.
