For the Gravy

  • 1/4 cup pan drippings or butter Adds flavor to the gravy.
  • 2 cups milk Base for creamy gravy.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • In another shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk until frothy.
  • Dredge each beef cube steak in the seasoned flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and dredge again in the flour, pressing gently.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the steaks for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Place cooked steaks on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Making the Gravy

  • Use the pan drippings in the skillet, or melt butter, then whisk in flour to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, bring to a simmer, and stir until gravy thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve the steaks hot, drizzled generously with the creamy gravy.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot for a crispy crust. For a kick, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture. Let the steak form a good crust before flipping.
