Ingredients

Dressing

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped Creates a creamy base.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Smooths out the dressing.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Balances tartness.
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice Adds zesty flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt Enhances flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Add the diced apples to a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and drizzle lemon juice over them. Gently toss to coat.
  • Add diced celery, halved grapes, and chopped nuts to the bowl. Stir gently to combine.

Making the Dressing

  • In a separate bowl, whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Fold in the mayonnaise until combined.

Combining the Salad

  • Fold the whipped cream mixture into the apple mixture until everything is evenly coated. Season with kosher salt to taste.

Chilling

  • Cover the salad and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or overnight for the best flavor.
  • Serve by itself or on a crisp lettuce leaf.

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith for the best flavor balance. Consider adding raisins or cranberries for extra sweetness. For added creaminess, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the mayonnaise.
