Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Filling

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking up any chunks.
  • Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking for an additional 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and egg, mixing until creamy.
  • Fold in the cooked beef mixture gently.

Assembly and Baking

  • Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Stuff each pasta shell with the ricotta-beef mixture and place them in the dish side by side.
  • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes
