  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 4 pieces brioche buns
  • 1 cup coleslaw (optional) Add for crunch.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in a crockpot, ensuring they’re spread evenly for even cooking.
  • Sprinkle the minced garlic and onion powder over the chicken.
  • Pour your chosen barbecue sauce and the low-sodium chicken broth over the chicken.
  • Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  • Once it’s done cooking, shred the chicken directly in the pot using two forks.
  • Serve the shredded chicken onto the soft brioche buns and top with optional coleslaw.

Notes

Experiment with different barbecue sauces for unique flavors. For healthier options, use low-sugar sauce and whole grain buns.
