Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Adds sweetness
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For aroma
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda Adds unique flavor
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Provides structure
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Rich chocolate undertones
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder For texture
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 cups powdered sugar For a glossy finish
  • 1 dash vanilla extract For added flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar until fully dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and Dr. Pepper soda.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick—it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.

Glazing

  • In a small saucepan, combine the remaining Dr. Pepper soda, butter, and cocoa powder. Heat until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until glossy.
  • Pour the glaze over cooled brownies and spread evenly. Allow to set before slicing.

Notes

Use room-temperature ingredients for better mixing. Line the pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Avoid overmixing the batter to maintain fudginess.
