For the Cupcake Batter

  • 12 cupcakes cupcake batter (homemade or store-bought) Tender, spongy base for cupcakes.

Preparation of Peanut Butter Lava Filling

  • Beat together the softened butter, creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy.
  • Scoop out approximately 1 tablespoon of the filling, rolling it into small balls, and freeze for at least 30 minutes.

Make the Cupcake Batter

  • Prepare your favorite cupcake batter according to package instructions or using a homemade recipe.

Assemble the Cupcakes

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • Spoon a small amount of batter into each liner to cover the bottom.
  • Place a frozen peanut butter ball in the center of each liner and cover it with more batter until cups are two-thirds full.

Bake the Cupcakes

  • Bake the cupcakes according to the recipe or box instructions for 18-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean except for some gooey peanut butter.

Cool and Serve

Notes
