  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained to add brightness
  • 1 cup frozen peas for a pop of color
  • 1 ½ cups cooked pasta elbow macaroni or rotini works well
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for that melty, classic flavor
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese adding stretch and creaminess
  • 1 tsp dried oregano for a hint of herb-infused fragrance
  • ½ tsp salt to enhance the overall flavors
  • ½ tsp black pepper for just the right amount of seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil used for cooking and adding sheen
  • 1 cup crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs for a satisfying crunch
  • 1 tbsp melted butter to mix for that golden topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces.
  • Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic; cook for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
  • Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, frozen peas, oregano, salt, and pepper; let simmer before removing from heat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture and stir well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the mixture.
  • In a small bowl, mix crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce. Customize with more vegetables or different cheeses based on preference.
