Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter, rich and creamy
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced for that fragrant, aromatic essence
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil (optional) adding a nutty undertone
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce providing a savory depth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or mirin introducing a hint of sweetness
  • to taste pepper for that perfect seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce or mirin in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  • Over medium-high heat, melt the butter in a large skillet or wok.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about half a minute.

Cooking

  • Add the chicken pieces to the pan and toss to coat them evenly with the melted butter and garlic.
  • Pour in the sauce you prepared earlier and stir well to coat the chicken pieces thoroughly.
  • Stir-fry the chicken for about 5 minutes until seared and thoroughly cooked while the sauce reduces.
  • If using sesame oil, drizzle it over the chicken just before serving.

Serving

  • Serve hot alongside hibachi rice, noodles, or a medley of hibachi vegetables.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken in soy sauce and garlic for at least 30 minutes prior to cooking. You can also toss in chopped vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini during the stir-fry.
