Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and dusting them with flour.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the orange cake mix, eggs, milk, melted butter, and softened orange sherbet. Beat on medium speed for about two minutes until smooth.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting

  • In a chilled bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until stiff peaks form.

Assembly

  • Once cooled, place one cake layer on a platter and frost the top. Place the second layer on top.
  • Frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting for a smooth finish.
  • For decorations, roll out orange fondant, cut out petal shapes, create yellow flower centers, and use green icing for leaves.
