Ingredients
  

Cabbage Base

  • 1 head green cabbage, cut into 1-inch slices Provides a sturdy and wholesome base.

Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb lean ground beef Provides protein and comfort.
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup) For added sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese, divided Use mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or your favorite cheese.
  • 1/2 tsp salt For seasoning.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper For seasoning.
  • 1/2 tsp red chili pepper flakes Add spice.
  • 1 tsp grated garlic Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion Brings freshness.
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley Optional, for freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange cabbage slices on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Roast cabbage for 10 minutes until slightly tender.
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, garlic, green onion, parsley, chili flakes, half the cheese, salt, and pepper.
  • Shape mixture into four patties.

Cooking

  • Spread tomato sauce on each cabbage slice, sprinkle with cheese, add a beef patty, and top with more cheese.
  • Return to oven and bake for another 10–12 minutes until patties are cooked through.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken. To reduce sugar, use sugar-free sauce or fresh salsa.
