Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
- Scoop batter into cupcake liners, filling them just under three-quarters full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
Frosting
- Beat softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, mixing until fluffy.
- Divide frosting into bowls, adding different food colors to each.
- Use a piping bag with a star tip to decorate the cooled cupcakes.
