Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 10-oz Lobster Tails Fresh or thawed lobster tails are rich in flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Salted Butter (melted) Adds richness and depth to the dish.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (crushed) Infuses the dish with aromatic intensity.
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice Provides a zesty brightness.
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika Offers a gentle smokiness.
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper Adds a hint of heat.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Thaw the lobster tails if they are frozen. You can do this overnight in the fridge or place them in a sealed bag and submerge it in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to broil at 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Adjust the oven rack so that the lobster tails will be about 4 to 5 inches away from the broiler.
  • Using kitchen shears, carefully cut down the center of the shell of each lobster tail lengthwise, starting at the tip opposite the tail fins. Open the shell gently, pulling the lobster meat upward.

Cooking

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, crushed garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Brush it generously over the exposed lobster meat.
  • Slide the prepared lobster tails into the oven and broil for about 10 minutes, or until the meat turns opaque and lightly golden brown.

Notes

For best results, use fresh lobster and baste frequently with the butter mixture. Overcooking can lead to tough meat; aim for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
