  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced Adds a crisp, refreshing crunch.
  • 1 red or yellow bell pepper, sliced Contributes a vibrant splash of color and sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Enhances the umami flavor of the beef.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Imparts warmth and depth of taste.
  • Salt & pepper to taste The classic seasoning duo.
  • 4 hoagie rolls Soft and chewy, ready for fillings.
  • 4 slices provolone cheese Creamy and melty.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for about 5-7 minutes until they become soft and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced beef steak and sizzle for about 3-4 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder, seasoning with additional salt and pepper.
  • Preheat the oven’s broiler. Split the hoagie rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Lay a slice of provolone cheese on each roll, then layer the sautéed steak, peppers, and onions evenly onto each roll.
  • Broil the loaded hoagies for 1-2 minutes, watching closely as the cheese melts into a golden topping. Once done, remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

These hoagies are great for casual dinners or Game Day gatherings. Feel free to add toppings like jalapeños or fresh herbs for customization.
