Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain) Choosing a tender cut ensures a juicy bite.
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli) These shapes hold onto the sauce perfectly.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For sautéing and adding richness.
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Brings sweetness and tanginess.
  • 2 tbsp honey Adds a touch of natural sweetness.
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce Adjust to taste for the necessary kick.
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely chopped) Enhances the flavor base of the dish.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) A must-have for aromatic depth.
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper (chopped) Introduces freshness and a slight crunch.
  • Salt and pepper (to taste) Essential seasoning.
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro (for garnish, optional) A vibrant finish to the meal.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring a large skillet or pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add in the pasta and cook according to package instructions. After cooking, drain the pasta and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced steak with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Sear the steak in the hot pan for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the same pan. Toss in the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and continue to cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Lower the heat to medium and stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta and the seared beef back into the pan. Toss everything together until the pasta is thoroughly coated in the sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.

Notes

Consider marinating the steak in BBQ sauce and honey for deeper flavor. You can add vegetables like zucchini or spinach for extra nutrition and swap the protein as desired.
