Ingredients
  

For the Burger

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean) The foundation of flavor and juiciness in our burger.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Soft and slightly toasted, to cradle the delicious fillings.
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese Creamy and spicy to enhance the burger experience.
  • 1 piece fresh jalapeño, sliced Seeds removed for less heat.
  • 1/2 piece red onion, sliced Sweet and crunchy, adding delightful texture.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil To keep things sizzling and prevent sticking.

For the Spicy Mayo

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Creamy base for our spicy sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce Adjust for spice level.
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup A classic touch to balance flavors.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential seasonings to enhance the beef.

Garnishes (optional)

  • to taste lettuce A fresh touch on top.
  • to taste pickles A tangy crunch for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper, and stir until well mixed.
  • Shape ground beef into four equal-sized patties, seasoning each one generously with salt and pepper.
  • Lightly oil the grill or griddle with olive oil.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  • During the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and cover with the grill lid.
  • Toast the hamburger buns until golden brown.

Assembly

  • Spread the spicy mayo on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  • Place the burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by jalapeño slices and red onion.
  • Add optional garnishes of lettuce or pickles, then top with the bun's top half.

Notes

For an even juicier burger, avoid overworking the ground beef. You can prepare the spicy mayo and shape the patties a day in advance. This recipe can also be made with chicken or turkey.
