Strawberry Swirl

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and mashed The star of the show, providing natural sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Helps create syrup from the strawberries.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds a refreshing zing.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions for about 20-25 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the mashed strawberries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and lemon juice. Stir and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the strawberries break down into a syrupy consistency.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

Assembly

  • Once the ice cream has finished churning, transfer it to an airtight container.
  • Drizzle the strawberry swirl over the ice cream and gently swirl it in to create a marbled effect.
  • Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until it firms up.

Serving

  • Serve in bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe strawberries. If strawberries aren’t in season, opt for frozen strawberries but ensure they are thawed and drained before mashing. Add a pinch of sea salt for a richer flavor.
