Preparation

  • Combine 4 cups of water, halved garlic cloves, kosher salt, and black pepper in a large pot over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes to infuse flavors.
  • Stir in whole milk, cubed butter, and brown sugar until melted and well combined.
  • Add halved corn ears to the pot, ensuring they are submerged in the liquid. Simmer for about 10 minutes until just tender.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped chives.

Notes

For added richness, consider using a blend of whole milk and heavy cream. A pinch of cayenne pepper can add a kick. Substitute fresh herbs for chives if desired.
