Icing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon for the filling.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Spoon half of the cinnamon filling over the batter and swirl gently.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter and filling.

Baking

  • Bake the loaf for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • While cooling, prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Once the bread has cooled slightly, drizzle the icing over the warm loaf.

Notes

Allow the bread to cool slightly before adding icing. Add nuts or raisins for extra flavor.
